PT STAR Bahal Ran Vaccination Event, opened virtually by The Governor of North Sumatera.

A number of oil palm plantation companies in North Sumatera associated in Indonesian Palm Oil Association of the North Sumatera Region (GAPKI SUMUT), working together with the Public Health Office of North Sumatera,simultaneously held COVID-19 vaccination program on 4th – 5th August 2021. One of the companies participating in the event was PT Sumber Tani Agung Resources’ Oil Palm Plantation and Mill Bahal (PT STAR Bahal) in the village of Bahal, Sub-district of Portibi, District of North Padang Lawas. The event was virtually opened by the Governor of North Sumarea, Edy Rahmayadi.

The company spared no effort at ensuring all 450 employees of the PT STAR Bahal of all management levels were vaccinated against the COVID-19 virus. The vaccination was conducted by the Medic Team from the technical execution unit (UPTD) of the public health center of Portibi, at the courtyard of PT Star Bahal’s Division 2 office.

Present in the event were the Manager of PT STAR Bahal, Yudi Anto, Head of Sub-district Portibi, Gusti Harahap, Babin Kamtibmas of Padang Bolak Police Station, Babinsa Koramil Gunung Tua, BNPB Satgas PPKM of the distric of North Padang Lawas.

In the snippet of the opening speech, the Manager of PT STAR Bahal Yudi Anto stated that the event was conducted pursuant to the instructions by the Governor of North Sumatera. “On the other hand, however, this event is PT. STAR Bahal’s participation in supporting the government in mitigating the non-natural disaster,” he uttered.

He also appreciated the employees who have voluntarily and consciously support the government’s effort in putting an end to the transmission of the corona virus. “Among which by happily participating in the COVID-19 vaccination event, and always complying with the health protocols,” he asserted.

Previously, Governor Edy Rahmayadi in his opening speech virtually delivered from the Sri Pamela Torgamba Hospital, Jalan Lintas Sumatera, Beringin Jaya, labuhan Batu Selatan (Labusel). By hitting the sirene buttone, Edy Rahmayadi ceremoniously and officially opened the vaccination event of Sentra Vaksinasi PTPN II, III, IV and GAPKI.

“This is one of our efforts to prevent the spreading of COVID-19 in North Sumatera, beware that we shall not leave behind the health protocol (Prokes), wearing masks, washing hands, keeping distances. Even though you are already vaccinated, if you breach the prokes , be ready to be infected with COVID-19,” said Edy.

According to Edy Rahmayadi, plantation workers were one of the prioritized vaccination group, given that plantations were the greatest contributors to Indonesia’s factor income from abroad. “Ladies and gentlemen, you are all prioritized, because plantations contribute considerably to our country’s factor income from abroad. We don’t want plantation workers in North Sumatera to be heavily exposed to COVID-19”, he asserted.
