PT KAS Dispensed Funds for CSR Program of Building Boreholes in the village of Aek Tinga Sosa
Palm Oil Mill Company PT Karya Agung Sawita (KAAS) of Sosa, Padanglawas, dispensed the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funds to meet the corporate’s social responsibility. The company’s corporate social responsibility was conducted through a business approach by giving contribution to a sustainable developmentof economical, social and environmental benefits for all stakeholders.
The company’s expressed its awareness ofcorporate social responsibility by helping build a unit of borehole to provide a supply of clean water to fulfil the need of the villagers of Aek Tinga, Sosa. The financial help shall include the purchase of a borehole pump and other materials needed to equip the facility, and had been symbolically handed over by the Factory Manager of PT KAS, Suardi, accompanied by the Head of Administration, Hery Hasibuan, Thursday (26/8/2021).
“The CSR program of funding the building of a unit of borehole facility has been handed over to the village government and villagers of Aek Tinga,” said Suardi. According to him, the financial help was given as a realization of the company’s concern and social responsibility towards the villagers around the company’s premises. The buiding of the borehole facility, he further added, would help the villagers enjoy a clean water supply especially for the villagers coming to pray at the village mosque.
“The borehole of the CSR program is built next to the village mosque as aspired by the villagers to fulfil the need of clean water supply for the mosque premises and for the villagers.” Suardi hopes that the CSR program of PT KAS can provide benefits to the villagers of Aek Tinga.
He then added that the execution of such CSR program to the villagers is a routine and is expected to give constructive contribution to fulfilling the need of clean water. “Such CSR program is also distributed to other villages in the proximity of the company’s premises as a realization of the company’s social awareness,” he concluded.
